Yanga reschedule flight to Mauritius

YOUNG Africans flight to Port Louis has been rescheduled until tomorrow, the club’s manager Hafidh Saleh confirmed yesterday.

The official said the rescheduling has been necessitated as a result of flight availability. The earlier flight that would have enabled the team players and officials to fly by yesterday would have caused extensive delays according to Saleh.

The tomorrow’s flight to Port Louis will dent hopes of the team to have sufficient time to acclimatise with the weather ahead of their first leg tie of the CAF Champions League match against hosts, Cercle de Joachim on Saturday.

Yanga board a flight to Port Louis with a contingent of 28 people that include 21 players. Should Yanga cross over the first round hurdle, then Rwanda champions APR or Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows will be at their doorstep in the subsequent round.

The CAF Champions League assignment has necessitated the Tanzania Premier League Board to postpone at least two of their Mainland fixtures. However, their match against archrivals Simba to be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam remains unchanged.

Yanga are leading the premiership standings with 43 points to enjoy one point gap over two other hottest title contenders, Azam and their closest archrivals Simba after 18 appearances.
