The authority has moreover pledged to allow its staff to participate in sports activities that are legally organized by the country's recognized sports federations.
Mussa Mbura, TAA Director General, stated so while receiving more than 10 trophies won by the institution's teams in the 2022 Inter-Ministerial Sports Federation (SHIMIWI) Games, which took place in Morogoro and Dodoma.
He also received other trophies won by TAA teams in a sports bonanza, organized by the institution and took place at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) grounds.
He explained the benefits of workers' participation in sports, noting it keeps them healthy and boosts their efficiency and productivity in their working places.
"TAA promises to continue providing maximum cooperation by presenting many players to participate in various sports tournaments because we all know that sports are healthy, happy, and build relations with others, therefore I advise you to continue participating," Mbura said.
He moreover pledged to increase the sports budget and purchase various sports equipment like bicycles to be used in the cycling race to be organized by the Ministry of Works and Transport.
Mbura, further, promised to pay a visit to a sports club formed by the Transportation sector, now camping to prepare for the May Day tournament slated for April 14-29 in Morogoro.
Mbura Tenga, TAA Secretary-General, had earlier thanked the agency for fielding many players in various sports tournaments.
Tenga noted that the TAA has turned into a role model to the other 14 institutions forming the transportation sector that has gained such an achievement.
