Victoria Martin, the 2023 Miss Tanga coordinator, on Monday, announced the pageant and added that all girls that meet the criteria are welcome to register.
Victoria, the 2007 Miss Tanga winner, explained that the interviews for all girls showing interest to compete in the pageant have officially started on March 20 this year and the training camp will begin on April 29.
"The 2023 Miss Tanga pageant is inviting all models with all qualifications to register for the competition," Victoria noted.
"This time I want to share my experience in the beauty sector by doing something unique and different," she stated.
Explaining the reasons for the pageant's organizers to pick 12 girls, Victoria disclosed there will be special training the pageant's participants will have to go through.
According to the coordinator, the training includes how to value self-discipline, and making the most of economic opportunities available in the modeling sector.
The coordinator pointed out: "We don't want to have parents and their daughters intending to join the competition regretting, we want to do away with the mindset that beauty pageants amount to wayward lifestyle... they should allow the girls to explore their life opportunities."
"I'm proud to gain many achievements through this sector, I worked for multinational and international companies," the coordinator noted.
Monica Swai, the 2023 Miss Tanga pageant sponsor, asked the parents to approve their daughters to register for and take part in the Miss Tanga pageant to make the most of the opportunities available.
"I would like to advise parents and their daughters, who are currently at home and have all qualifications to compete in the pageant, they should not hesitate to do so," Monica revealed.
She insisted: "They should come and find a chance, it could be their way to gaining achievements."
