Kiiza has scored 19 goals this season to tally with the highest goals record posted in the previous seasons since the new premiership franchise was inaugurated in 2008/9 season.
However, his tally might be surpassed by other strikers who are behind him especially Young African’s Amisi Tambwe who trails him by a lone goal.
Tambwe has an opportunity to outpace Kiiza as his team has more fixtures than Simba.
So far Tambwe and Kiiza are the two players who have wide opportunity to win the award depending on how they feature in their remaining fixtures.
Yanga’s Zimbabwean striker Donald Ngoma has 14 goals to his collection and needs to intensify his efforts to beat the two strikers who are ahead of him.
However, Ngoma has been observed to be highly compassionate and not greedy as he has always been assisting other striking partners like Tambwe to score goals even when he is in a good position to do so.
