Makonda gave the donation fulfilling his promise to the ‘Zali la Mentali’ hit maker today December 23, 2023 in Dar es Salaam as he also gave an extra 10m/- that topped the amount to 20m/-.
Speaking to Makonda, the former MP said he is challenged with travelling longs distances from his home to Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), where Makonda pledged to address the challenge by finding a home in Upanga area for the veteran musician.
Furthermore, he also raised a challenging concern on how to reach people that promised to support the Prof. Jay Foundation of which Makonda assured him of making sure that he reminds them to fulfill their promises.
Recently Makonda personally promised to donate in the foundation a move aimed to support kidney patients in the country.
The Bongo Flava legend spent 127 days in ICU before recovering from his sickness earlier this year where President Samia funded for his treatment both in and outside the country.
Professor J said he was prompted to open the foundation specifically for kidney patients due to his severe condition of suffering from the disease for about two consecutive years and seeing how expensive the treatments are.
