Famously known as Yanga, the squad parted ways with Congolese winger Jesus Moloko, ending his two-and-a-half-year stint at the club. He was one of three Congolese ballers remaining at the club.
Moloko's contract was due to end in 2024 but both parties reached an agreement to part mutually. He joined the club in 2021 from DR Congo's AS Vita Club and became a key figure in Yanga's success, winning back-to-back NBC Premier League titles, Community Shield (twice), Azam Sports Federation Cup (twice), and runners-up in 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup.
It is understood that Ghanaian winger Augustine Okrah is already a replacement for the Congolese winger.
Yanga has loaned out Ghanaian forward Hafiz Konkoni to Cyprus Premier League outfit- Dogan Turk Birligi- until the end of the season. The 24-year-old forward- who signed for Yanga in July last year from Ghanaian side Bechem United after an impressive spell in the Ghana Premier League- did not live up to expectations.
Konkoni managed to score one goal in five appearances for the Mainland Tanzania champion in the CAF Champions League, as the outfit is featuring in the Group Stage for the first time in so many years.
The lanky striker will return to Yanga after the conclusion of his loan stint in Northern Cyprus, the loan move presents an opportunity for Konkoni to showcase his skills in a new football environment, and fans eagerly anticipate his contributions in Northern Cyprus.
The squad’s Tanzanian forward Crispin Ngushi has joined Coastal Union until the end of the season to develop his confidence and get game time away from his squad.
Yanga's head coach Miguel Gamondi previously insisted that it is difficult for a squad to get good players in the January transfer market but he hoped the club worked to get him one.
"It is tough to get a striker in the mini transfer window and we all know that, but I will be lucky and delighted to have one to boost our squad. We have many tournaments and that makes it demanding in our attacking phase and depth," Gamondi stated recently.
On deadline day, after so much anticipation and cliff-hanging fans, Yanga officially unveiled Joseph Guede, the talented Ivorian forward, as the club's newest signing.
Yanga's revelation follows closely on the heels of long-time rival Simba SC, which just declared the acquisition of Ivorian player Michael Kouablan.
Guede becomes Yanga's third signing in the mini-transfer window after Zanzibar's Shekhan Hamisi and Okrah were introduced in the 2024 Mapinduzi Cup.
The Ivorian forward, formerly with Tuzlaspor, brings his talents to Yanga. Born on August 24, 1994, the 29-year-old is poised to enhance the prowess of the Jangwani Street-based team, currently sitting second in the NBC Premier League.
