The organizers have insisted such effort boosts the national identity and encourages the community to pass it from generation to generation. Sauti Za Busara is organized by Busara Promotions.

The festival's Manager, Journey Ramadhan, said so after his team received an honorary award during the Tanzania Music Awards (TMA) gala held in Dar es Salaam last weekend.

Ramadhan also acknowledged the government's effort to promote arts and cultural activities in the country.

"Busara Promotion and Sauti za Busara team acknowledge the endless effort that the government, through its Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have placed to develop the arts and cultural industry in the country," the official pointed out.

"We will maintain our support to promote our cultural diversity in the country and worldwide," he said.

Ramadhan received the award from the Director of Arts Development in the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports Emmanuel Ishengoma, and National Arts Council Executive Secretary Kedmon Mapana.

After receiving the award, the festival manager noted: "First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan and all institutions and stakeholders for appreciating and seeing the importance of musical art.

"We are very grateful for the honorary award for contributing to the music industry, this institution has contributed significantly to the development of Tanzanian music by allowing artists to show their talents and connect local and foreign artists to work together," the official noted.

Apart from the role of Busara Promotion and the Sauti za Busara Festival, the team has set its sight on promoting arts and the cultural industry.

Ramadhan revealed they had played a vital role in fostering artistic works that have contributed to the artists' economic growth.

The festival moreover attracts visitors from around the world to visit Tanzania and various tourist attractions every year.

Ramadhan pointed out: "Our festival has also been able to attract visitors from different parts of the world to Zanzibar and Tanzania, thus contributing to the economic growth of Tanzania."

This year's festival, Sauti za Busara, celebrated its 20th anniversary and welcomed artists worldwide.

The festival invited groups of different ages and countries, some of which are the Zanzibar Dhow Countries Music Academy (DCMA) and Young Stars at Ngome Kongwe' Old Fort in Zanzibar to mark the official opening of the 20th edition of Sauti za Busara Festival in February.

After this year's festival climax, the organizers opened doors for artists to register for the 2024 edition and showcase their talent, culture, and passion for music.
