The former Simba and Young Africans player joined the exodus-hit Mbeya City during the mid-season transfer window that ended in December last year.
Kaseja whose contract with Yanga ended in chaos with legal wrangles dominating headlines, opted to revive his career with the Southern Highland’s club.
Mbeya City’s secretary general Emmanuel Kimbe said his club has been highly impressed by the performance displayed by the goalkeeper and negotiations are underway to extend his contract for next season’s league.
The official said Kaseja has been impressive in all of the matches that he was lined up to play. He was unfazed by the matches that Mbeya city lost while Kaseja was between the posts.
“We are accepting all results of soccer including defeats”, said the official.
However, he said final decision of retaining Kaseja will entirely depend on how the club’s Malawian coach Kinnah Phiri will rate the goalkeeper.
Phiri joined the club barely a month now and has never seen much of Kaseka despite the fact that he knows him during East Africa Challenge Cup tournament when the goalie was featuring for the Mainland team.
Kaseja’s manager Athumani Tippo said he will attend a meeting with the Mbeya city officials with regard to discussions linked to the goalkeeper’s contract extension bid.
