Mwanyenza says he would like to feature again in the regional’s highly lucrative event in terms of prize fund package later in April. The Tanzania has been featuring in the annual tourney for several years and his last appearance was in 2004 when the event was staged at Karen Country Club in Southern Nairobi. Mwanyenza, the only Tanzanian who has made several cuts has been out of action since 2005 when the new generation of golfers attempted to feature in the highly lucrative tourney. None of the young golfers managed to make a cut in the event and worst as it has become the Tanzanian slots have been unutilised for the past two consecutive editions. Mwanyeza says he plans to camp in Nairobi to gear up for the event at the Par-70 flat course of Karen that he has made cuts more than any other course of the event. Mwanyenza, now in his mid 60’s said he want to prove wrong all critics that his era has gone and with practice and will, he has promised to find a breakthrough. Certainly he is not among the contenders for the title but he expects to make the cut and then weigh a possibility of finishing at a respectable position.
