JKT Ruvu have so far attained 21 points to open a slim cushion over the relegation borderline with seven rounds of matches to play before winding up the season.
Coast Region’s Football Association’s (COREFA) Chairman Hassan Othman 'Hassanoo' said stakeholders of the game in the region have met to plan ahead on how best to save the team from relegation.
Hassanoo said the first step was to make use of their home turf in Mlandizi as the team changed the venue hardly a fortnight ago. The official expressed his sincere appreciation to the Tanzania Football Federation that blessed the otherwise important decision.
"It's just that we cannot afford to have our team is relegated. The first initiative was to ensure Ruvu shooting is regaining promotion to the top flight berth and this time we are working with hand-in-glove cooperation to enable JKT Ruvu win matches for premiership survival”, said Hassanoo.
The plan look to have materialized as the Abdallah Kibaden’s coached JKT Ruvu posted two back to back victories the moment it returned to its ancestral home venue.
Ruvu beat Toto Africa (2-0) before breezing past Mwadui FC by a lone goal.
The relegation-haunted JKT Ruvu has two matches to be played at their home turf against visiting Ndanda FC and Stand United.
