During the event, the board bestowed certificates of excellence upon outstanding contributors in the sector.

Among the recipients of this prestigious recognition was Betway Tanzania, the global online betting brand, which was lauded as the most compliant betting company in Tanzania and presented with a certificate of commendation. Despite only two years of operations within the Tanzanian market, Betway has emerged as a standout example of regulatory adherence.

Expressing his gratitude for the accolade, Jimmy Masaoe, the Country Operations Manager for Betway Tanzania, emphasized the alignment between this recognition and Betway's core business philosophy of championing responsible gambling across all markets of operation.

"We take immense pride in being designated as the most compliant company by the esteemed Gaming Board of Tanzania, especially given our relatively brief presence in the Tanzanian market compared to other longstanding entities. This is a testament to our unwavering commitment to responsible gambling," stated Masaoe.

He further underscored that this distinction validates the brand's dedication to fostering a culture of responsible gambling.

As the Gaming Board of Tanzania commemorates two decades of regulating the gaming and gambling industry, it underscores its substantial contributions to the national economy. The board has played a pivotal role in elevating tax revenues, which have surged from a modest 2.8 billion Tanzanian Shillings in 2006/07 to an impressive 170.43 billion Tanzanian Shillings in 2022/23. Moreover, the board has significantly bolstered youth employment and attracted 67 investor companies.

Through the recognition of conscientious efforts exhibited by companies like Betway Tanzania, the Gaming Board of Tanzania is actively fostering an environment conducive to the positive impact of the gaming and betting industry on the nation.
