The outcome has witnessed Aces Cricket Club tightening its grip on the top place in the showdown's Group A, boasting the 1.0004 net run rate having triumphed in three ties and the other was declared no result.

Last weekend's clash once again had Aces Cricket Club demonstrating its ability to efficiently contain opponents in domestic club tournaments, setting up a modest target and later keeping Gupta Upanga SC-A in check.

Gupta Upanga SC-A cricketers restricted Aces Cricket Club to 164/10 in 46 overs after winning the toss and resorting to fielding.

Efforts by Gupta Upanga SC-A to keep Aces Cricket Club's batting unit had seemingly paid off to some extent thanks to an early exit of the latter's opener, Asif Butt.

Butt, one of the hard hitters, was trapped for leg before wicket (lbw) by Gupta Upanga SC-A's Ramesh Alluri with the batsman making his way back with mere 10 runs.

Fellow opening batsman, Nasibu Kelvin, was hardly ready to become a victim of early dismissal, executing a series of solid shots and ultimately recording 34 runs.

There was later a slight setback for Aces Cricket Club that came about because of another early exit of one of the key performers, Ankit Baghel, with the cricketer ending with eight runs.

Zimbabwean professional, Jeremiah Makanya, assigned as a top-order cricketer, as well did not have a good outing, having chipped in with 13 runs.

The otherwise tenacious cricketer was dismissed by Gupta Upanga SC-A's all-rounder, Sanjay Bom, to leave his squad 10 runs short of a triple-digit total in the 23rd over.

Youthful all-rounder, Jaffary Kanyita, to some extent kept Gupta Upanga SC-A's bowling unit at bay with good shots to make his way back with 20 runs, clearing the boundary twice.

Salum Jumbe significantly boosted the pursuit of an imposing score with his 32 runs, pushing the club's score to 164 runs once he was dismissed in the 45th over.

Middle-order performers, Ally Mpeka, and Kibwana Salum were the other cricketers in the batting side that made their way back with two-digit figures, in which Mpeka posted 11 runs, and Salum had 13 runs.

Bom had the best bowling figure when Gupta Upanga SC-A fielded, notching four wickets and giving away 29 runs in 10 overs.

Alluri moreover played a part in Gupta Upanga SC-A's efforts to ensure Aces Cricket Club's batting unit ended with a manageable total, taking three wickets in seven overs.

The performer conceded 25 runs in his bowling stint which saw him settle for a 3.57 economy rate, whereas Bom had one maiden over in his seven-over stint which witnessed the cricketer post an impressive 2.90 economy rate.

Even though they were chasing a modest target of 165 runs, Gupta Upanga SC-A cricketers found the going tough having been skittled for 134 runs in 35.3  overs.

Their efforts to mount a successful chase experienced a drawback within the opening two overs, as openers Vikram Rathore and Prem Thakkar became victims on an early exit.

Skipper Rathore could so far make his way back with mere three runs, having been dismissed by Aces Cricket Club's menacing pacer, Mpeka.

Fellow opener Thakkar also had a frustrating outing at the crease, notching four runs before returning to the pavilion.

Rishen Patel, placed at number three, worked hard to foil an early onslaught posed by Aces Cricket Club's bowling unit, as the cricketer scored 17 runs.

Wickets thereafter began falling at an alarming pace, as the Gupta Upanga SC-A batting unit's edge unexpectedly waned.

Alluri and experienced player, Ashish Kamania, were three runs short of a two-digit score as Aces Cricket Club continued compounding the batting side's woes.

Bom ultimately took the crease to end the skid, putting impressive shots to show and nailing 66 runs, including four and seven sixes.

Ankit Baghel and Mpeka had Aces Cricket Club successfully thwarting Gupta Upanga SC-A's strategy that aimed to ensure the club get down to a successful chase.

Ankit had the best outing with the ball given the cricketer notched four wickets and leaked 24 runs in nine overs, Mpeka had a three-wicket haul whilst leaking 25 runs in eight overs.

Although his outfit succumbed to the loss, walked away with his stellar all-round showing, nailing 66 runs during his team's innings and recording four wickets when the team fielded.
