He made the remarks in Dar es Salaam today March 1, 2024, saying that the nation has lost a great patriotic leader who had genuine love and capabilities to lead the nation well.
“He had a lot to reform in his leadership and he did well. He is the founder of economic and political reforms that were later adapted and worked upon by other leaders that came into power,” he said.
He added: “We followed his footprints.”
“On my side, it’s a profound moment of appreciation as he is the one who put me on the map to leadership after recognizing my recognized my ability,” he said.
He further said that he was CCM secretary for Masasi, then became Nachingwea Member of Parliament hence the beginning of his political journey.
“It all started in his hands. I have no option but to say I am where I am because of him.”
