Serengeti Lite beer has recently wrapped up its well-known DJ competition dubbed Take a Bite Out of Life by awarding youth DJs with awards worth millions of shillings at the Triple-A arena, where seven contestants went on spins against each other before the judges to be in the final three.

Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) Head of Beer, Nandy Mwiyombella presenting the prize to the third winner of the DJ compee competition, Take a Bite Out of Life, Mussa Shaban famous Dj. Son from Kilimanjaro region the competition organized by Serengeti Tanzania SBL brewery aimed at helping young people become self-employed.

This final competition ended the three-month campaign by getting the three lucky DJs who each bagged DJ kits worth seven million Tsh. The duo also got golden opportunities to be the official DJs of the ‘Lite with a Bite’ by spearheading future brand promotions and activation activities for Serengeti Lite.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, SBL Head of Beer Portfolio, Nandy Mwiyombella, said, ‘It is an exciting time for SBL and its iconic beer, Serengeti Lite, which leveraged the competition to expand its position in the market by helping youth showcase their talent. Serengeti Lite has a passion for the youngsters who are more vibrant, stylish and trendy; this is why the Take a Bite out of Life campaign has targeted them, providing them with a get-away that aims at enabling them to enjoy every moment at its fullest while at the same time savoring the alluring fuller taste of Serengeti Lite beer, the only lite Tanzanian beer, made for Tanzanians by Tanzanians’.

Arusha Youth Officer Japhet Kurwa officiated the ceremony on behalf of the Regional Commissioner, Hon. John Mongella who also awarded the three lucky winners. Kurwa applauded SBL efforts to stimulate the labor market by incentivizing youth in the entertainment sector. 

He said, ‘I am overwhelmed by excitement to witness how youth pursue their dreams with vigour and passion. I applaud SBL to make their dreams a reality. It is a beautiful day for these three winners; their lives won’t be the same again because you have just added new employment opportunities; as I know, some of you (especially winners) will be invited to events as DJs and open music studios in the long run.

Kurwa added, ‘the event itself has sparked attention in the city. I am confident that this attention has stirred more conversation with youth living in Arusha. I hope they use this example to step up in life and grab every opportunity to reach their goals, especially when our government is working hard to boost employment in the country.

Take a Bite Out of Life campaign accompanied thrilling entertainment activities of local DJs competing all over the districts, regions and country. The competition amassed over 5,200 contestants above 18 years with aspirations to build their careers as music entertainers.

On each occasion, lucky participants walked away with merchandizes and, on top of that get an opportunity to showcase their talent before prominent judges such as DJ ZERO and the public.

This is not the first time SBL has ambitiously invested in such projects. The iconic brand has also invested in the sports sector by sponsoring the Taifa Stars team, the Women’s national league and other significant golf tournaments.
