YANGA’s Zimbabwean striker Donald Ngoma has predicted his team will excel in this year’s African Champions League.

Ngoma said he has always been concentrating on finding opponents’ back of the net whenever he is on the pitch, and the approach has helped him to fulfill his ambition.
"Scoring is my task. I always think of that whenever I’m on the pitch. I thank God for helping me perform my duty," he said.
He said he believes his team will have an impressive spell in the African Champions League as well.
"We expect to perform well in the African Champions League too. We know Yanga are eager to stamp their authority in the event and that is why our coach had added new players last month,” he said.
The striker notched two goals in his team’s 3-1 win over Zanzibar’s Mafunzo in Group B’s opening match in the Mapinduzi Cup last weekend.
The Jangwani Street squad’s newly recruited striker, Paul Nonga, who previously featured for Mwadui FC of Shinyanga, drilled in the third.
Yanga’s head coachHans Pluijm has said his team’s striking force’s performance has improved tremendously.
The Netherlands tactician said he has been impressed by the cooperation showcased by his team’s striking duo of Ngoma and Burundian Amissi Tambwe, as well as Zimbabwean midfielder Thabani Kamusoko.
"Every player is aware of his team mate’s position on the pitch. The approach helps the team emerge victorious,” he said.
“I believe the strikers’ performance will keep on improving and help the team get good results in games, given we have tough assignments in the Mainland Premier League and African Champions League," Pluijm said.
He said the challenges that the strikers encounter in a game help them gain experience, noting that victories that his team posts in matches proves the side’s prowess.
