In a special interview with a Dar es Salaam radio station today, the midfielder said his differences with the club’s president Hersi Said have prompted him to request contract termination.
“My main problem is the club's president. It reached a point I had to ask him for an opportunity to settle our differences, of which he confessed and asked for forgiveness, I agreed and recommended that I should be left to proceed with other kinds of stuff,” he said.
He further apologized to his fans for not knowing what is going on, adding his love for the club made him show full dedication to the team.
He added: “I will only join Yanga if Hersi leaves, he wasn’t picking up my calls at the time I needed (his attention) so he can know what I was facing at the time."
The player noted: "However he only showed his readiness after I (requested to) terminate my contract.”
Salum, alias ‘Fei Toto’, caused controversy all over Tanzania after it was confirmed that the footballer wrote Yanga requesting to terminate his contract with the outfit. The contract has 18 months left.
