THE sixth phase leadership has enabled the country to have political unity based on conducting clean, civilized politics that respects each other's ideas, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has declared.

Addressing a rally at Likangara grounds in Ruangwa District, Lindi Region, with Abdulrahman Kinana, the Mainland CCM vice-chairman as the chief guest, the premier said that this situation had made the country calm with the 4Rs policy, namely reconciliation, resilience, reform and reconstruction.

He said the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan is a great success, enabling the nation to maintain stability, harmony and accelerate the development effort with vision, direction and clear plans.

He said that Tanzanians and Ruangwa residents were proud of the president’s leadership, citing approvals and facilitation of various development projects in the district and elsewhere.

As a bearer of the principles of leadership and good governance, the ruling party was moving forward in the confidence that the atmosphere will enable the party to win the local government elections this year and the general election next year.

He cited the pursuit of strategic projects since President Samia came into office, pointing at the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (JNHPP), the standard gauge railway (SGR) and the Kigongo-Busisi Bridge.

These projects will promote the economy, increase employment opportunities and achieve the goals intended in the 2020/2025 election manifesto, he said, praising the way the president has worked to restore Tanzania's image in the international arena, also strengthening economic diplomacy.

This has opened up various opportunities for investments, capital flows, markets of our products and an increase in tourist flows, promoting Kiswahili and removing trade barriers with neighbouring countries, the premier explained.

Ruangwa District successes during the sixth phase government relate to social services delivery in health, education, water, roads and agriculture, enabling the people to initiate activities to improve their livelihoods.

The government has built a district hospital, four health centres in Malolo, Nangurugai, Narungombe and Namichiga wards, nine dispensaries in Namungo, Mbangara, Muhuru, Namkatila, Mkaranga, Mihewe, Lipande, Mkutingome and Mtakuja villages, enabling people to access services close to their homes, he said.

The party vice chairman affirmed that the speedy achievements made in Ruangwa are exemplary, thus people need to foster unity and solidarity in enabling real development, citing the good work of the Ruangwa MP who doubles up as premier, as having been a close link uniting the people, CCM and the government.

“I will be a witness to narrate the good development work being done in Ruangwa. I often walk across the country, I passed by Ruangwa in the 1980s and 2000s, but today's Ruangwa is completely different from the Ruangwa I saw in the past. I congratulate the people of Ruangwa for your unity and solidarity,” he told the gathering.

Delivery of development in the district breaks records in the use of development funds compared to district councils countrywide, he added.
