Home Affairs Deputy Minister, Hamad Yussuf Masauni told the police over the weekend that the report will help the force to identify the shortfalls that occurred during October’s General Election.
He also noted that it would help the force to see how best they can eliminate problems that occurred last year to avert future problems.
Masauni said security during the re-run of the polls must be strengthened than it was during last year’s General Elections before they were nullified.
He said peace and harmony must be maintained in Zanzibar before, during and after the elections.
“The election will be conducted smoothly as security will be toughening in all corners of the isles before, during and after to allow the citizenry to exercise their democratic rights,” he stressed.
According to the Deputy Minister, the current security situation in Zanzibar is satisfactory, despite isolated incidents caused by political differences that include burning of some of political party premises.
