The announcement was over the weekend by Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa while in Moshi where he is attending the installation ceremony of the new Bishop Dr. Fredrick Onael Shoo as the Fifth Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT).
The PM said the issue needs other players in the sector to chip-in and air their views on the indicative fee structure.
In another development, the PM reassured stakeholders that the government is determined to revamp railway infrastructures and it is now working to determine the actual cost of the project. He said the revamp will start with four key areas Dar es Salaam to Mwanza-Tabora-Kaliua-Mpanda to Karema.
“The second area will be the northern corridor, Dar es Salaam- Tanga – Arusha to Musoma. The third will be Tabora – Kahama – Kigali (Rwanda) the forth railway line will be from Mtwara through Tunduru-Songea to Mbamba Bay,” detailed the Premier.
Further the PM took the time to reassure the public that the government will continue to respect all its three pillars and that; “Tanzanians are watching us and so in the National mirror our positions and even our attires should encourage others,” he said.
Asked about redoing the proposed new Constitution, the Premier said; “the government will work on the matter.”
Earlier, Bishop Dr. Shoo expressed his dismay over what he described as “a move by the government to turn the National Assembly into a brawling.”
“The MPs and the Speaker must restore the status of the National Assembly,” urged the cleric who went on to raise the issue of the constitution which according to him, the public wants repeated.
