The decision was reached on Tuesday after the party’s district meeting which was held to assess last year’s election.
The meeting also directed that some of the CCM leaders be stripped ofparty membership.
Acting party secretary in Singida Urban District, Elihuruma Nasari, told reporters here that one member of CCM National Executive Committee (NEC) from the district, Hassan Mazala, was completely expelled from the party.
“After assessment of the October 25, 2015 General Election, the meeting directed Mazala to be removed from his post and even be stripped his party membership together with all leaders at ward levels who, in one way or another, betrayed it,” said Nasari.
Mazala was among those who were defeated in the Singida Urban Constituency’s opinion polls against Musa Sima. It is claimed that his defeat sabotaged the party and disturbed the entire election campaign process.
Others who were penalised included the chairman of CCM’s youth wing, Jumanne Rajabu, district Finance officer Loiruck Mollel, UWT district chairman Consolata Mzirai and chairman of CCM’s parent wing Janeth Nyakonji.
The CCM official said that the posts previously held by the fired members would be presented before NEC, which has the mandate to announce elections to fill them.
Other members who faced party action included Duda Mughenyi, Valerian Kimambo, Iddi Mtaturu, Ramadhani Tati and Japhari Ikaku.
According to Nasari, the meeting also suggested the need for Magreth Ndwete, who was the secretary during the opinion polls in the district to be removed from the party.
He said that Ndwete also bugnled the opinion polls by announcing Mazala the winner, a situation that caused a commotion in the area.
Other allegations against Ndwete included hiking fees for MPs’ form to 5m/- contrary to the party’s directives.
Right now the committee has remained with five members only.
