LG Electronics come up with an affordable air conditioner
  • •    LG showcased new air quality monitors and filtration systems in addition to other cutting-edge Air Conditioning solutions at an Engineers event in Dar es Salaam
  • •    The technologies on display are intelligent and can be controlled via the ThinQ App which supports advanced features like voice commands and energy-saving modes

People in Tanzania are poised to experience a transformation in indoor comfort and air quality, thanks to LG Electronics' latest introduction of cutting-edge indoor air quality monitors and air-purification equipment.

Engineers who visited the LG Electronics Tz East Africa pavilion having a moment with LG representatives during the Annual Engineers Day 2023 at Mlimani City held from 14th to 15th Sept.

The groundbreaking showcase occurred at the prestigious Engineers’ Registration Board Event, held over two days at the renowned Milimani Exhibition Center in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

LG Electronics, a global leader in electronics, reaffirmed its commitment to revolutionizing the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry by its participation in this influential forum.

The new innovations from LG Electronics represent a strong leap forward towards fulfilling a promise that no Tanzanian should miss out on broader ranges of energy-efficient and affordable HVAC systems and technologies.

This is especially because Tanzania's capital Dodoma and commercial center Dar es Salaam are experiencing rapid growth. Dodoma is seeing the development of multiple housing projects, including 250 by the National Housing Corporation, in response to the expanding population and government functions.

In Dar es Salaam, the increasing demand for offices, hotels, and business centers has led to a property boom, with skyscrapers dominating the skyline.

This growth in both cities is driving a need for air-conditioning technologies, which LG aims to address.

Focused on increasing indoor air quality, LG’s HVAC systems are designed to provide a healthy and comfortable living and working environment.

The company’s solutions use state-of-the-art technology for energy efficiency, in perfect alignment with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and address climate change.

"As the market leader in electronics, LG is committed to advancing HVAC technology and providing superior indoor climate solutions to Tanzanian consumers," said Dong Won Lee, LG Electronics East Africa Managing Director.

"Our participation in the Engineers’ Registration Board Event underscores our dedication to this mission and our desire to empower Tanzanians with cutting-edge, energy-saving air conditioning systems."

On display were residential Dual Cool Inverter Wall split ACs, Smart Inverter systems, Split Air Conditioners, ceiling fans, and refrigerators with Smart Inverter Compressors and Multi Air Flow features.

Among the popular technologies exhibited was the Single Split Commercial Air Conditioner (SCAC), which is designed to save energy by 40 percent by constantly adjusting the compressor speed to maintain the desired optimum temperature, thereby reducing energy costs.

The SCAC is now available in floor standing options that can operate on a Wide Voltage Range, and has 30 per cent Cooling Speed.

Other notable technologies included Multi V5, an integrated solution that combines advanced technologies for high rise buildings. Multi V5 provides maximum energy efficiency while minimizing operational costs and its Dual Sensing Control senses humidity and temperature.

All the LG solutions in the showcase offer optimal cooling performance with minimal energy usage and can be controlled via the ThinQ App with advanced features like voice commands and energy-saving modes.

The Engineers Registration Board event, which is held every year in September, brings together engineers, manufacturers, and government institutions to showcase different innovations, including HVAC technologies.  This year, over 4,000 stakeholders attended the conference.
