THERE is a saying or let's call it a cliché' that has become a common statement for quite some time now. It is absurd and none the less indecent vocabulary. However, as the wise men say, where there is smoke, there is fire; I am therefore obliged to bring this up.
Rumour has it that young ladies in this city (Dar es Salaam) are characterised by putting on weavings and having fat bellies. Oh well that's some real shade right there and actually some painful truth literally! However if any of you feels like throwing stones at this writer (myself and I ) hold up let me get my points across. I let the weavings side pass along and let's shine a light to the fat bellies here.
First of all the consumption of junk food and lack of exercise is a common thing in this town and actually for a lady in college this is another lifestyle of hers.
Talk of having chapattis and some delicious soup for breakfast, rice, beef, and beans with a can of soda aside for lunch and mishkaki ,fried eggs, a can of soda, chicken wings and chips for supper beside that snack comprising of a well-served piece of ice cream you always have at KFC and maybe a piece of mouth watering meat bugger at Mary Brown at around 4 Pm in the evening.
Leave alone the late night drinking and stuff ,drinking of water is unheard of maybe just a few glasses or two in two days, all one has for dehydration is soda and alcohol and all these is summed up with zero exercise hours. When made a lifestyle and a daily routine, it becomes the definition of unhealthy lifestyle; you know the type of routine you create for yourself where you can’t go a day without munching your favourite foods? Oh well that’s it.
In my third and final year of study I had a very unhealthy lifestyle for quite some time, eating of junks, sweets, lots of chocolate, chips ,alcohol very little consumption of water and every thing else you think of.
Some very beautiful dresses of mine became small and began revealing the lower belly and alas...! Right then and there I made a decision that my current self is grateful for. I decided I would exercise and eat clean and to my surprise my colleagues were not for the idea and I actually looked like I was living a fantasy.
This is quite common in colleges and universities whereby the majority would never think of living some healthy lifestyle and the few who do are mocked and ridiculed.
Lately I am amazed by how students both male and female hit the gym and opt for clean eating and I was left wondering where the hell these people grasped that piece of golden advice. I am pleased to see my friends doing the same, my old stubborn friends who saw exercise as a load of work to do back in the days. I have lately come to realize a very classy gym in town that is situated along Bibi Titi road opposite Mnazi Mmoja bus station.
This gym is called Nambiza Executive Gym. For all your fitness matters, there are equipments for each exercise and weights too for men who wanna look sexy with a six pack as they walk along the college corridors and for women who squat so heavily that they turn heads with their well built hips and butts. Oh well ladies, you aren’t strong till you squat and make men turn heads when you pass by!
It is actually characterised by modern equipments and oh well I must admit that beside having thousands of gyms in Dar es Salaam, this is my final destination of a health and fitness center and I would also recommend it for everybody not only for college student. Also the Gym fees are as affordable as hell, value for your money!
We all are aware of how busy students could be and in fact besides being busy there is another thing called laziness especially for the ladies. Some would rather go watch The Empire series on their beds all day on a weekend than jump a rope or run some miles leave alone few body exercises.
Despite of the busy schedules, Nambiza Executive Gym has been a home to the majority of students at Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), College of Business Education (CBE), and Institute of Financial Management (IFM), among other learning institutions where they would now rather get their schedules right a day before so they don’t miss a day of workout.
All the students who make fitness and health their center have Nambiza Executive Gym as their health hub. Talk of the latest fitness equipments, experienced trainers with a boxing trainer too. Personally I love boxing and it’s a pleasure I found the perfect place to practice and at the same time stay toned and fit, yah!
The main goals of Nambiza Executive Gym are for a member to achieve his or her goals as planned. This includes muscle building for men, belly loss, body shaping, butt firming and boosting, and weight loss.
Talking of weight loss when I first became a member met a lady who once weighted a hundred kgs and had later lost 20 kgs in a month. It is not just a place where you go exercise and go home it is also a gym that is a partner and a friend to every member.
What to eat, when and at what time, how to exercise a certain part of your body for better results are instructions given to each member.
Isn’t that interesting? Well it is and this is why the young lady saw results much earlier. What more can you ask for if a gym is a perfect partner?
There is an imprecision that interests me the most and that is the idea where they reward those who reach their body goals earlier especially those who weighed a lot more than the rest and this is through certificates, early month reduced gym fees plus other promotions. Now this is sense and it acts as a motivation to the rest too.
Bonanzas are also another improvising where we get a chance to meet our fellow colleagues from several other fitness centers and other trainers too and exchange ideas and workout together.
Even though you are sore from yesterdays' workout and you feel you don’t want to make it the next day, when you remember the feeling you have after an exercise session, the sweat, you just push yourself and nothing could stop you from engaging in an early morning workout.
Exercise hours are between 6 AM in the morning to 9PM at night so members just select suitable workout hours between. I personally prefer both morning and evening hours.
I would speak over and over again about Nambiza executive gym but it has actually had students around town incorporate fitness and health into their daily schedules making it a routine in the new college syllabus which was unheard of way back.
I recommend it for the rest who are not yet members. It’s a friend, partner and actually it is a fitness center where you are called by your name despite the numerous gym members, you see how personal that is?
I love the relationship it creates with its’ clients. It doesn’t focus on your fees alone but most importantly on your fitness journey with close follow up with each member. There is nothing more I could ask for .I, together with students around town found a friend, partner, confidant and a reliable place for all our queries in our fitness journey.
Kudos to my fellow fit ladies and the young men out there. Being students we have a lot in our plates including our studies, extra curriculum activities, peer pressure, negative influence from colleagues, opinions from family and friends and so much more but we still chose to embrace health, fitness and positivity .
Kudos to us, fitness isn't a destination it’s a journey, lets' keep pushing. You are all doing a great job your future self will thank you for. Keep it up!
