Speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday at the launch of the International Exhibition for Plastic, Rubber, Petrochemical and Building organized by Africa-PPB-EXPO, Ministry of Trade and Investment Permanent Secretary Prof Adolf Mkenda said traders should think outside the box by doing international trade.

“As for this exhibition, we found that there are so many trade opportunities where local investors can collaborate with Egypt as they are looking for trade partnership,” he said.

According to him, the exhibition, which brought on board more than 52 firms, focused on finding local agents who can import goods made of plastic and rubber from Egypt.

The PS added that “we can enhance our goods and market through motivating our partners, not only to import their goods, but also do production in our country hence improve local industries and the economy at large”.

He elaborated that already three Egypt investors had show interest in investing in cashew nut business and called on serious businesspeople to utilize the opportunity.

For his part, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed Hamza said the exhibition would open doors for the two countries to partner in business.
“Tanzania has potential land which can produce different crops compare to other countries,” he noted.

He cited production of coffee and meat which can be exported in Egypt as they are best consumer.

“We have high production compare to other African countries but there are numerous challenges facing local investors including finding markets international,” he said.

He called upon Tanzanians to show up in the exhibition so that they can see opportunities available and how to utilize them effectively and strengthen trade relationship.
