TPSF, AICC to host world SMEs summit in Dar next month

THE Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) in partnership with Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) will host an International Conference for Small and Medium Enterprises (ICSME) in Dare Salaam next month,

being the first time such a conference is held in the east and central African region.

The three-day conference will be held at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) next December.

A statement issued by TPSF said the process to host the conference started during the 2015 China Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition which was held in Beijing, China.

Secretary General of WASME (World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises), Gyan Prakash Agrawal had indicated his interest to bring the 2016 ICSME conference to Tanzania during talks with TPSF officials.

World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) is a global non-profit organisation, headquartered in Noida, India, that has been spearheading the cause and development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) world over since its inception in 1980.

Over 35 years, WASME has emerged as one of the most representative, effective and leading international organisation working towards the promotion of SMEs worldwide through policy advocacy, information dissemination and conferences.

The objectives of WASME is to ensure growth and promotion of micro organizations and SME’s in developing countries through collaboration with SMEs in developed countries and encouraging enterprise-to-enterprise cooperation.

Tanzania Private Sector Foundation exists to advocate and seek change in public policy in order to promote a better business environment.

TPSF’s main objective is to provide a national platform through which the business community can present their concerns at the TNBC policy forums, with the overall aim of creating a more conducive business environment through targeted policy reforms.

TPSF also works towards promoting private sector’s national, regional and global competitiveness in trade and investment.
