Samamba was recognised by SABMiller Africa Managing Director, Mark Bowman during a marketing, sales and distribution gala dinner for the group held in Cape Town South Africa for his hardworking and long term service at TDL where he has been working for the past 22 years.
The TDL Operations Manager has invested much of his time and energy towards the success of the company which is a subsidiary of SABMiller group.
Samamba joined TDL in 1994 as an Area Sales Controller for the north-west area based in Mwanza where he successfully delivered and got promoted to Regional Sales Manager for TDL’s north-east area with Arusha as his workstation.
“During my early days as an Area Sales Controller, I was personally responsible for not only sales but also driving the 10 tonne-truck that delivered products to all regions in the Lake Zone…..I was also responsible for the recruitment and training of distributors including many of those who are still operating today,” Samamba said.
In his desire to achieve more for the company, the TDL Operations Manager moved to various new workstations marking the company’s popular local brands such as Konyagi.
As TDL started to develop a more market oriented approach to its sales and marketing functions, Samamba was appointed as the first Trade Development Manager with a task of introducing a system tool that could improve sales executions in trade as well as implementing the introduction of sales training, the company said in a statement.
In his current position, he is responsible for distribution, depot warehousing and stock controls for the company’s brands.
“He is someone whose nomination for SABMiller Africa Masters’ status is surely merited,” the company’s statement added.
