Speaking during the launch of the 2018 International Volunteers Project dubbed “Najivunia Tanzania kwa kazi za kujitolea Ng’ambo” International Youth Fellowship (IYF), Chief Envoy Seong Hun Kim said the aim of the project which targets youths of ages between 18 to 35 was to promote a global mind set through foreign experience.
The project which he says works in collaboration with the Ministry Of State in the Prime Minister Office is also geared towards nurturing confident and empowered youths, capable of handling life’s challenging situations effectively.
More than 25 countries he said had expressed the need to accommodate the volunteers who will work in different trades.
University of Dar es salaam Dean of students Paulina Mabuga who was present at the function said this was a good opportunity for Tanzania youths to learn volunteerism and patriotism besides learning to be self-reliant.
Speaking at the same function, one of the programme beneficiaries who volunteered in Paraguay Valence Mkulu gave a testimony of how IYF had changed his life. He said the programme had broadened his thinking and that he was no longer the same. He urged youths to embrace the opportunity.
Mkulu, a Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) student said he was able to learn a lot including languages, environment and cultural interactions.
